CADAVERIA — the Italian band featuring former OPERA IX vocalist Cadaveria and ex-OPERA IX drummer/NECRODEATH vocalist Marçelo Santos (a.k.a. Flegias) — will release its first retrospective DVD, “Karma”, on October 22 via Scarlet Records.
The double-disc set will live and backstage video material, unreleased interviews and much more, spanning the band’s entire career, for a total running time of two hours and 40 minutes.
CADAVERIA’s “Death Vision” video can be seen below. The song comes off CADAVERIA’s fourth album, “Horror Metal”, which was released on January 31, 2012 via Bakerteam Records, a division of Scarlet Records.
The group’s long-awaited follow-up 2007′s “In Your Blood” (released on French extreme metal label Season Of Mist) has been described by Cadaveria as “the most obscure, raw and horror-filled work ever produced by the group.”
ARIA PLAN FOR OCTOBER RELEASE OF 5 SONG EP “ABANDON”
A new, highly anticipated EP from ARIA. “ABANDON” is due to be released October 2013 and will be available on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon. The first single off the EP is the feisty, energetic track titled “On My Own.” The video for the track will also premiere September 3rd.
They have been working tirelessly to put together their 3rdrelease. With a debut self-titled EP and their full-length album We Are All Prisoners under their belt, they are fine-tuning their sound and honing their song-writing abilities. Teaming up once again with producer Michael Hatalak of It Dies Today to record the 5 tracks, ARIA also sought the help of co-writers Justin Gammella and Lance Camann to take a new approach.
“I feel like with each year that passes we have a better grasp on what direction we want to go and our goals become more and more specific.” Explains front-woman Bianca Dyrland. “We’ve taken more time to write these 5 songs than we have to write all our older songs combined. We don’t want to just put out music for the sake of putting out music. We want it to be the best representation of who we are now and who we want to become.”
The first single “On My Own” is bold and unfeigned, exposing a little more aggression and candor than most other ARIA songs. The song makes a big statement, calling out a friend or possibly former lover for abandoning her in a time of need, which ties in with the title and theme of the record.
“I was just trying to think of my overall state of mind during the writing process. I was feeling an overwhelming sense of abandonment both internally and externally and all the songs seemed to reflect that. So the word Abandon kind of just punched me in the face.”Elaborates Bianca on the title and theme.
ARIA is currently booking a stretch of tour dates in the eastern half of the United States that they will announce in the coming weeks to promote the release and expand their audience. The band will be touring as far southwest as Texas and working their way back up along the coast.
