EXIT EDEN, the all-female four-piece ensemble featuring Amanda Somerville, Clémentine Delauney, Marina La Torraca and Anna Brunner, has released a video for its cover version of the song “Incomplete”, originally recorded by BACKSTREET BOYS.
EXIT EDEN unites all attributes ascribed to the new millennium: cosmopolitan, self-confident-independent and ready to do their very own thing. Despite their diversity, the four singers blend together personally as superbly as they do vocally with their very diverse vocal tones and techniques that go from opera style to raspy rock. This constellation created extraordinary and powerful ideas and finally became their unique plan to raise EXIT EDEN‘s very own edge: to show the world that almost every classic song can be transformed into a solid metal-rock song.
EXIT EDEN‘s debut, “Rhapsodies In Black”, which will be released on August 4 via Napalm Records (worldwide excluding Germany, Switzerland and Austria, where it will be made available via Starwatch), is home to a colorful mix of international super hits from Rihanna to Madonna, from DEPECHE MODE to Adele, and many more. Still and all, it’s miles away from being just a cover album.
Who the musicians are:
Amanda Somerville: Amanda is a rock-solid authority of the music scene, both as a solo artist and sharing success and the stage with bands like AVANTASIA, EPICA and KAMELOT. Though her American roots are based in pop and rock, she fell in love with the metal scene and made it her home. She has toured with Alice Cooper, Ian Gillan and many more legends with her commanding voice and fronts the projects TRILLIUM and KISKE SOMERVILLE (with HELLOWEEN icon Michael Kiske). All of this, combined with her wide range of experience, grants her a unique edge and a permanent address in the metal world.
Anna Brunner: A natural talent, Anna began singing at a very young age. As a daughter of a German father and an American mother, she grew up bilingual and founded her first rock band as a teenager. Due to a music study that lead her through different parts of the world, she garnered a multitude of experience and it became crystal clear to her: music has to rock — and vocals need to be emotional — just like a passionate scream.
Marina La Torraca: Hailing from Brazil, Marina was born with rhythm in her blood. As the auspicious frontwoman of several metal bands since the age of 15, her path led her to Europe, where she got to perform with AVANTASIA and to found her up-and-coming band PHANTOM ELITE. Since having studied musical theater in New York, the versatile singer and actress can also be seen internationally in musical productions, including the upcoming German tour of the Broadway hit “Rent”. For her, being close to the crowd is what counts — no problem for her and her natural convincing character.
Clémentine Delauney: Clémentine was born near Paris 30 years ago. She has been a multi talent since her childhood days — no matter if she was dancing, playing the piano or singing, she enchanted her audience. At the age of 16, she joined her first metal band. She is currently fronting symphonic metal outfit VISIONS OF ATLANTIS and also worked with SERENITY and MELTED SPACE. Another one of her career highlights is her participation on Kai Hansen‘s (HELLOWEEN, GAMMA RAY) first solo album, released in 2016. Thus, Clémentine has carved her way into being one of the great performers of the scene.

Italian heavy rockers LACUNA COIL are working on their first-ever book, titled “Nothing Stands In Our Way”, to be published around the world early in 2018.
“Nothing Stands In Our Way” is described as “the full twenty-year story of the Italian gothfathers as told by the band in their own words. Illustrated throughout with rare and candid photographs, memorabilia and personal artefacts, it will see founding members Andrea Ferro, Marco Coti Zelati and Cristina Scabbia sifting through the birth, growth and full flowering of the band to tell twenty years of LACUNA COIL.
“Nothing Stands In Our Way” will be available around the world in two editions, the Classic and the limited-run Signature set. So register your interest now to be sure of getting a copy, and for the chance to have your name printed in the book.
Says LACUNA COIL singer Cristina Scabbia: “I’m so excited to share what the last twenty years of my life were made of! It has been an awesome journey so far and so much happened ,it was almost impossible to remember it all!! You all know a lot about us, but there is SO much more we never said and showed before. Now the time is right to do it. Our backstages and living rooms will open up for you all… you’re welcome, coilers, come in and get comfortable… Once upon a time…”
Ferro recently told the Impact metal channel that LACUNA COIL fans will have to wait at least a couple of years for the follow-up to 2016’s “Delirium” album. “Next year’s gonna be twenty years of LACUNA COIL, so first we’re preparing some surprises for next year, and then after that maybe we’ll start working on a new record,” he said. “So I don’t think there will be a new record at least until 2019.”
LACUNA COIL in December released a new song called “Naughty Christmas”. The front cover and font were all created by bassist Marco “Maki” Coti-Zelati.
“Delirium” entered The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 33 with first-week sales of just over 13,000 units — nearly all from pure album sales. The set followed the No. 27-peaking “Broken Crown Halo”, which also opened with around 13,000 copies back in 2014.
“Solveig”:Seven Spires’ potent, debut full-length concept album – the journey of a lost soul through a neo-Victorian underworld ruled by an ancient demon. Despite small glimmers of hope, it is a grim tale with a heavy focus on escapism, death, and decadence. With distinct attention to melancholic power metal, melodic death metal, and black metal, these storytellers fuse sounds from across the spectrum of metal with their great love for Romantic composers and film scores. The album is set for release on Friday, but before it is, the band has given you a chance to hear the album in its entirety. Listen to it HERE.
Seven Spires carved their place in the metal world somewhere between Kamelot and Dimmu Borgir whilst all individually honing their craft at Berklee College of Music. “The human soul is a complex, multifaceted nebula of memories, intentions, and dreams,” says vocalist Adrienne Cowan, “And in order to fully express this in a story-driven album, I think it is so important to use every musical tool available to us. You can expect everything from regal black metal, bittersweet power metal during brighter moments in the story, and even a little doom metal in the darkest depths.”
Following the release of “Solveig”,Seven Spires plan to venture across North America through 2017. After witnessing firsthand the devotion of the European metal scene during a torrential downpour in the misty mountains of Slovenia, their headlining set at MetalDays ’17 proved that 2018 holds another voyage across the Atlantic for these metal storytellers.
