Veil of Mist (November 2016)

Location: Reims, France Genre: Symphonic Metal
Status: Active Current Label: Valkyrie Rising
Years Active: 2004-?

Veil of Mist was founded by Jean-Baptiste Frichet and Frédéric Carcelle in October 2004 in Reims (France) and plays a mixture of Metal with lead female vocals ranging from Dark Progressive to Atmospheric Black with a lot of elements in between.

The first four songs recorded by the band are available on the «Industry of Guilt» demo released in October 2006. And in August 2007 they recorded three other songs that can be found on the «Dangling Hopes» EP released on CD in 2008. Since then, the band has been playing live as often as possible in France and abroad with bands like Cheeno, Ancestral legacy, O X I S T, Embassy of Silence, Septicflesh, and so on but for several years they also suffered from many line-up changes which considerably slowed down their plans.

With a new line-up and renewed passion, Veil of Mist are about to release their first album: « Disenchantment », mixed by Joey Siedl (Architects of Chaoz, Paul Di Anno) and mastered by Jarno Hänninen at D-studio in Klaukkala, Finland. The album features three guests: Eddie Risdal (Ancestral Legacy, ex V:28), harsh vocals on « Shareholder of Your Ruin » and « I Shall Not Die Alone» and acoustic guitar on « Pretium Doloris ». Joey Siedl (Architects of Chaoz, ex-Cheeno), guitar solo on « Scarecrow ». And Pierre Bensusan, classical guitar solo on « Sham Existence ». It will be available digitally on May, 13th, 2016 on the main download platforms and as Digipack CD including one bonus track a few weeks later. It features 11 dense and diverse tracks, with a melancholic and hopeless feel for 58-minute journey reflecting the contemporary world and its bruises.
