Graveshadow

Graveshadow

Graveshadow is a heavy metal band from Sacramento, California, USA founded by vocalist/songwriter Julius Jones, and Guitarist William Lloyd Walker.

They are known for their blend of the styles – mixing symphonic metal with thrash, doom, and gothic metal – as well as their use of operatic, modern power and death growl vocal style performed by Heather Smith respectively. All six members participate in composing their songs. Their songs largely deal with concepts of fantasy, sci fi, supernatural, and historical events of their heritage, including – but not limited to – mythical beings of the underworld, popular shows such as Dr. Who, Game of Thrones, and others.

Dark Beauty

Dark Beauty
In a music scene where cookie cutter performers claim to be unique, Dark Beauty combines elements of dance, rock, opera, theater and world music into a true one-of-a-kind experience. The band’s classically influenced gothic alternative progressive rock gives fans a way to stretch their ears and experience styles and mixtures of music that they’ve never heard before.

Lead Vocalist and Songwriter Liz Tapia began this journey back in 2009 when she wrote and recorded the first song from the project “Save Yourself.” The song mixed a Middle Eastern beat with Santana-esque guitars, gothic lyrics and a soaring melody, beseeching a lover to turn away before it was too late. The song became instantly popular with fans of many musical styles, leading her to pursue the project and its main character on a grander scale.

Kingfisher Sky

Kingfisher Sky

Together with singer Judith Rijnveld, Ivar de Graaf (ex-Within Temptation) explored a way to combine both their influences into songs that didn’t bound themselves to a specified genre or style. With influences like Porcupine Tree and Kate Bush, but also classical singers as Cecilia Bartoli and traditional Folk music in their mind they started recording songs in their home studio in 2005. They were joined by bass-player Eric Hoogendoorn (ex- Orphanage).

After completing 7 songs they signed a deal with Suburban Records in November of 2006. Soon after this Ivar and Judith joined forces with lifetime friend and guitarist Edo van de Kolk, guitarist Daan Janzing and George van Olffen on the keys. Kingfisher Sky was complete.
